I live with anxiety and mild Bipolar and have developmental disabilities. I run and own a newsletter about success stories and about disability awareness. We believe strongly in disability awareness and success stories. Telling success stories around all disabilities or mental illness is the best key to reducing stigma and discrimination. I live in Canada, and I am new here.

You can check out the newsletters if you want at The Kamloops self advocate newsletter/diverse abilities on facebook. It is my business and they are free newsletters for the public and people with disabilities to learn and have fun! The newsletters consists of recipes, jokes quotes and local events. But most of the stuff in my newsletter can be for everyone even if they don't live in my city. So if you are feeling down and want to read and have fun check out my page. You are never alone with your struggles in life!

The Kamloops Self-Advocate is a newsletter for and about differently abled
people. Our mission is to present positive stories that highlight people’s
successes while entertaining and educating our readership. We also aim to
create opportunities for individuals to voice their opinions and concerns. We
hope to improve people’s lives and help to erase the stigma around diverse
abilities and mental health issues.

Our goal for the future is to have an advisory group that can guide this process
and help to make it even more successful. Our other goal is to have contests
around disabilities like autism for special awareness days or months.
We need to expand this beyond service providers/agencies and get it out into the
community more, so we can help educate the next generation and the whole
community.

We believe in inclusion and equality and less segregation from society.
