George

I've been managing my own bipolar disorder for many years now and have long been frustrated by what I call the Misery and Romance response to bipolar disorder. It's either described as the worst burden a person could ever carry or the source of his or her creative genius. The truth is somewhere in the middle--something that simply IS, another part of who I am. That's why I developed a new video interview series called Bipolar Perspectives.

The videos in this series feature those affected by bipolar disorder: individuals who have it, their family members, and a leading psychiatrist with expertise in managing bipolar. The goal of the series is to share these experiences directly and help others recognize bipolar early, get treatment early and move on to have a healthy, good life. In so doing, we hope to reduce shame and secrecy and stigma, over time. These are real people, telling real stories.
