Lately in the local mental health system, the trend has been to move away from rehabilitation towards simply medicating the clients to “control symptoms,” probably because of lack of funding. About the only funding source left these days is from the pharmaceutical companies pushing their prescriptions.
I have #NoStigmas.
Mental health matters to me because the first loss inexperienced was that of my Uncle Paul to suicide. Because I’ve been the teacher to dozens of young people who have felt entirely alone in their pain. Because my own depression was a secret for WAY too long.
Why does #MentalHealth matter to you?
May is #MentalHealthAwareness month. FYI, I have #NoStigmas when it comes to #mentalillness. We all have our cross to bear. #MDD
