I had to learn to balance compassion for someone I knew was hurting and repeating their cycle just like my abusers from so long ago.
After I learned to control my OCD, I tried to avoid thinking about it much. The making of this app brought up a lot of memories — of the disturbing thoughts and the appraisal of them that my OCD forced me to go through, ultimately leading to a compulsion.
My diagnosis was scary but had a sense of relief. I was not alone. Other people live with the same mental illness that I do. Truth: I just replaced suffer with the word live.
